The traditional New Year’s congratulation in Russian is “С Новым Годом!” (s Nóvym gódom!). In Russia it is customary to clink glasses with champagne on New Year’s Eve, to open doors and windows in order to drive evil spirits out of the house, as well as to receive tranquility, good mood and harmony instead.
