“Happy New Year” in Romanian

In Romania and in the Republic of Moldova there are many New Year superstitions. The following is among them: on New Year’s Eve you should have money in your pocket, have no debt to anyone, have your glass full so that the coming year were “full and abundant”, on January 1st you must not throw anything from the house, etc. However, whether you respect these customs or not, tell each other “Un An Nou fericit” or “La Mulți Ani” and be happy in the new year.
